Patrick sat through the entire first substantive Vancouver City Council meeting so you don’t have to. We look at the motion to rescind Making Room and duplex zoning across the city and a separate move to begin consultations on a new city plan.

Then we go to the Mayor’s Council to see what’s next for Translink and transit in Surrey. And we talk a bit about consultation and what it’s good for.

This week’s Vancouveratta is the East Van Cross.

  1. Hi, I am a huge fan of the podcast! I listened to all of them religiously especially because of a) my love of politics and b) my office had delegated me as the municipal elections researcher. I work for an urban planning consultant company in Vancouver and we do planning work, engagement and project management for various developers and organizations in many municipalities in the lower mainland. We are working on various proposals in Vancouver such as Clark and 1st, and we also give planning support to municipalities like the Village of Belcarra. When I heard you guys were considering doing some work on the permitting process I wanted to offer any assistance I could provide for the other side of the process as seen from more of a neutral body. I am really keen to help in any way I can!
