Caitlin Shane is the Community Engagement Lawyer with Pivot Legal Society and works on multiple campaigns, including drug policy and homelessness, to ensure that community input remains at the heart of Pivot’s reform efforts. She joins us for the first half of the podcast to talk about her work and what cities can and should be doing.

She wrote in the Vancouver Sun that drug prohibition is the true radical policy and it’s time to talk decriminalization and regulation.

In the news, we talk about Shauna Sylvester’s raft of platform planks, the Green’s decision not to endorse anyone for mayor, COPE’s campaign office launch, the Burnaby First Coalition, Chuck Puchmayr’s run for New Westminster Council and we preview the UBCM’s annual meeting.

And this week’s Vancouveratta is the Vancouver Special.
